Professor Daniel Abadi’s post “Exadata’s columnar compression” provides a great analysis of Oracle’s whitepaper “Exadata Hybrid Columnar Compression”. I recommend you to read Professor Abadi’s post. He corrects some technical inaccuracies in the whitepaper. It is truly worth reading.
